1. When did you realize you wanted to become a musician?
well, when i was about six i started writing my own terrible songs... heavy metal type songs... i actually found one of the tapes the other day i started to get serious in the seventh grade... i was about 12 or 13. i started to write more complex lyrics... and in 89, when i purchased nwa's first album... i became an instant mc after that, i was in high school, and i formed a group with longtime friends bill nolan and george andronopolous(7L).we wrote this horrible kid n' play/kwame kind of bastard child song called 360 degrees. we called ourselves urban chemistry... biting the name from an already established group named downtown science. g-swift, billy the kid(btk), and me... unit 1.we used this masta ace instrumental and just spit these nauseatingly horrid lyrics. n college i met seamus ryan(esoteric), and i was still ryhmin' with george(7L). seamus had a radio show called shamrocks greenhouse at salem state. we formed a crew called speech impediment and god complex... the original members were this cat lionel, my best friend at the time trevor(kharma), myself, seamus and 7L. we hit the studio and recorded a few tracks. played a few shows in boston, rhode island and salem state college. then we split up.seamus and george became "7L and Esoteric", and i ended up going stray.but with the resugence of underground hip-hop, i decided to try to put together an album... then my cousin, John Cena approached me about doing some shit together. and here i am.
2. What inspires you to write your music?
well, it depends. mostly, it's the lack of lyrical content in music in general, not just hip-hop that pisses me off. that coupled with the lack of human capabilities and consciousness... it enrages me to hear these shitty mc's get away with making shit music and claiming they holdin' it down, and keepin' it real... they keepin' real bitch if you ask me.
3. What can we Expect to hear on your album when it is released?
my solo album, or the john cena and trademarc the nightcrawler album?
Both if you could cause I know you are working hard on both of them
first, john cenas album. well our lyrics are straight up battle orientated... in a nutshell we're saying "fuck mainstream needing to be all about ice, cars, bitches and money... here we are, with hard beats, hard lyrics, and cuts in the breaks... yes cuts... remember them?... i know y'all forgot what a dj was, so here we all are now, wut ma'fucka"
my solo joint is going to be a bit more geared toward the lack of credentials we as humans posses. it's also geared at rippin the bich mc's out there, but my shit is a bit more related to the suffering human condition.
4. Where do you see your music 5 or 10 years from now?
in 5 or 10 years i will have established myself as more than a musician or mc... i have a novel and a book of poetry in the works. i have begun my own creative revolution. it will not stop with hip-hop. i have written an album for a talented musician friend of mine... i am here to stay... the name marc predka will be synonymous with successful writer.
